Beetroot Fry


Serves: 4 people        Cuisine: South-Indian (Andhra Style)
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes    Preparation Time: 5 Minutes






Ingredients:

·         Beetroot – 200 Grams skinned and Cut into Small Pieces
·         Onion Medium sized – 1 Slice into pieces
·         Green chillies – 4 to 5 Slit cut into two pieces
·         Kaju – 5 to 6 (opitional)
·         Mustard Seeds – 1 teaspoon
·         Jeera Seeds - 1 teaspoon
·         Urad Dal – 1 teaspoon
·         Channa Dal -  1 teaspoon
·         Curry Leaves
·         Cooking Oil – 2 tablespoon
·         Salt to taste

Cooking Steps:


1.    Put the Kadai and turn on heat, add cooking oil and once it is heated add Mustard seeds, Jeera seeds, Urad Dal, Channa Dal, Kaju and Curry Leaves wait for it to crackle and turn brown.
2.    Now add chillies and onions into the kadai and sauté till onions turn slightly brown.
3.    Now add Beetroot pieces and sauté for 2/3 min. Add salt ,cut chillies and sauté for 2/3 min. Then add 1 cup water and put a lid on the kadai. Cook for 5 min.or till the veg. is cooked. Dish is ready.
