TOMATO RASAM WITH BOILED TOOR DAL(SENAKATTU)

INGREDIENTS:
  • puree of 2 tomatoes




  • Salt
  • Rasam powder-1 and a half spoon
  • coriander leaves
  • 2 glasses of water
  • Turmeric powder
  • boiled toor dal-3 spoons
  • Tamarind-lemon size(6-7 pieces)

For seasoning:
Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Urad dal-1/2 spoon
Curry leaves-10
Red chilli-2


PREPARATION TIME:15 minutes

PROCEDURE:

1.Take a vessel and and the tamarind pulp and the tomato puree.

2. Add salt,rasam powder,senakattu(boiled toor dal),turmeric powder,coriander leaves and sufficient water.

 3.For the seasoning,take a small kadai and add oil. Then add mustard seeds,cumin seeds,toor dal,urad dal,red chillies,curry leaves.

4.Add the seasoning also to the rasam vessel and keep it on stove.


5.Boil the rasam for 10 minutes while stirring in between.

6.when the rasam is boiled,remove and serve with white rice or idli.
